I love sitting at the big table in the corner in the front window of this spot! Daily specials, attentive staff, and some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life! And yes--if you're wondering, they DO have barria! The manager came out and had some fun with us. They close earlier than some of the other spots downtown, but it's worth getting out there to have a bite at Chicano's!
We stopped in for dinner before a show at the Dominion Center. A lot of the other nearby places had a long wait for a table (Friday night show). We were seated here immediately, got delicious chips, salsa, white dip, and margaritas. I had the tacos 3 ways, all of them good but the fish one was a real standout. The service was fast and the server was very nice. Nothing fancy but good mexican food if you find yourself downtown.

Chicano's is my go-to spot before every show at Brown's Island. We park, grab a fantastic meal and drinks then mosey down to the show. The staff are always friendly and helpful when I'm torn between two amazing choices. And the margaritas...chefs kiss! Get a jumbo! Dining room and bathrooms are always clean too. Just an all around great place in RVA. Cheers and see you again soon before the next show!
GREAT SERVICE I had a fantastic experience at *Chicanos*! If you're craving authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. The *tacos carne asada* were absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The *tacos al pastor* were equally amazing, with the perfect balance of savory and slightly sweet. The tortillas were fresh, and the toppings complemented each taco perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a casual meal with friends or family. If you love Mexican food, I highly recommend *Chicanos*. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
After a long day at the Marriott convention center, my three coworkers and I decided to go to this lovely place after work. It was the best thing we’ve had in Richmond to say the least. We arrived during happy hour and the waitress encouraged us to order off the happy hour menu. We each got a margarita, both frozen and on the rocks, and each one was perfectly made. We then ordered the Taco Salad, Enchilada Vardes, Tacos el Pastor, and the Enchilada Poblanos. We all we raving about our orders. We all said that if we lived closer to Chicano’s Cocina, we’d make this our hangout. It is absolutely a must to come to. The staff is so friendly, the drinks are great, and the food is outstanding. Highly recommend this place! (Sorry for the errors, I’ve had a few more magrs!)
Delicious Mexican food. High end atmosphere with a modern design. They offer great dinner specials each night of the week. Their burrito fajita did not disappoint. Will return!
